Hello, welcome back to my brand new-ish edition of my current songs on repeat. I’ve brought back my monthly feature Songs on Repeat! I am so excited to share the songs that I can’t help but hit the replay button for or constantly search for when listening to music each month.
In no particular order, I present the songs that I search for and have been listening to consistently in my endless library of music lately.
I Miss You by Clean Bandit featuring Julia Michaels (Yungen Remix)
I get emotional listening to this song, and I love it better than the original, cause I believe Yungen made this song a lot more wonderful.
Love Lies by Khalid and Normani
Guys who isn’t excited for Love, Simon. I mean if you’re not you better get on the badwagon and join the party. I love this song because well Khalid and then we have Normani voice shining bright on this track and the video is so sweet. Plus it’s such a beautiful song okay. veryone should watch and Love, SImon for me, because I won’t be able to see it till it get released on iTunes, Amazon and what not, cause I live in a country where being gay is a crime.
All the Stars by Kendrick Lamar and SZA
Black Panther. That’s the highligth of my February. Loved the movie, overhyped but still worth it, cause it was in my motherland and the story is one that’s hard not to love, and the amazing women of course, sad though that Nigeria was shown, but it’s shedding light on a matter most of the world have forgotten, the Chibok girls, and still girls are still getting kidnapped up north and being smuggled through the Sambisa forest.
God’s Plan by Drake
I cried watching the video. The song is iconic. You know Drake, king of slogans and all. “I only love my bed and my momma, I’m sorry” I remember when he went to the school to shoot the video and how happy the kids were and the young lady he gave money, it was beautiful and then he released this video and my love for him soared more than it did, cause your girl has been a huge Drake fan from the very beginning and I spent majority of the video crying because of how many lives he touched and the good he did. Nobody should even go for him that he made it a video, cause it’s still a good deed and one that’s huge many times over. He’s always had a good heart.
No Drama by Tinashe featuring Offset
I don’t want no drama-ma-a, I think that’s how the chorus goes, that has become my anthem now, this song is just great. I love singing along to it and the beat make me just want to dance my uncoordinated dance moves.
Bad Vibes by M.O featuring Lotto Boyz and Mr Eazi
I love M.O and I’m so sad, that Frankee left, but it’s all for the best I guess. This song is such a vibe. Also an anthem yo, don’t want no bad vibes on my end lol. just good vibes all through. The beat is very Afro Uk and it’s very danceable.
Ye by Burna Boy
Devil in California by Burna Boy
Outside by Burna Boy
Streets of Africa by Burna Boy
Burna Boy is my favourite Nigerian Artist. No one can beat him, he’s won it long ago and he’s keeping it. I’ve been a fan since Abeg Abeg. Now please everyone should listen to his recently released project Outside, because this album is just everything, he’s so underrated though.
