Meet Varsha, she is the blogger behind Vigorous Inscribes

1. Hello Varsha, please introduce yourself and tell us about your blog?

I’m Varsha, a 16 year old girl who has always wanted to express her thoughts and feelings to this judgemental society, without getting judged much (Impossible? I know, but I can’t control my thoughts and aims, can I?), hence my blog. To be very honest, my blog doesn’t have a particular theme as such. I just post anything I wish my viewers (however little) to read, or my opinions/feelings ‘bout a situation that I feel helpless ‘bout.

2. What was the deciding factor that made you go “Yes I am doing this, I’m starting my own blog!” ? Are you passionate about what you post on your blog?

Honestly, I hadn’t actually planned on starting a blog as such. I wrote a lot for the past 3 years and I needed a platform to share ‘em without the thought of me showing off arise in people’s minds. Starting this blog was a very impromptu plan, and it’s going on pretty well, I guess.

Yes, of course I’m passionate ‘bout what I post on my blog ‘cause every single word on it has been posted after a lot of thought given to it and is straight from my heart.

3. How would you describe your blogging style and persona? How meticulous are you, when it comes to the conceptualization up to the execution of your ideas?

My blogging style? Well, as I’ve already mentioned, I don’t really have a blogging style or theme as such. Maybe a schedule as to when to post what type of writings, but nothing more ‘cause I haven’t actually felt the need to do so. ‘Bout meticulousness, I guess it’s in my blood, for I don’t do anything for the sake of doing it. Has to be done very carefully, putting my heart and soul into anything and everything I do. Self-satisfaction would be the key to this.

Again, I don’t really conceptualize my ideas ‘cause I just write w/ the flow. Never really plan and then write ‘cause I feel that’d make it more formal.

4. What do you want and hope your readers to take from the content you share?   

I expect the least every blogger would do – read my expressions, get inspired and inspire me back so that I can in turn write more. Also, it’d mean the world to me if they could find the message in everything I share and apply it in their life too, something I’ve always wanted to do – create any small bit of change (for the good, of course) around me.

5. What is your blogging mojo? How do you stay inspired and motivated to continue running your blog?

My mojo’s very simple. I need to explore, experiment, express, expiate and expand, which is also my blog’s tagline. I don’t really need much of an inspiration, except for the lovely response I get from my readers, which is what fuels my day and keeps me going.

6. What is your long-term goal/plan for your blog?

I’d rather go with the flow and not plan much ‘cause they never work out for me. But overall, I’d say – improve my writings, get more experienced and do whatever li’l I can to bring ‘bout the good change ‘round me.

7. Who is your favourite marginalized main character? It doesn’t have to be from a book, it could also be from a movie, tv series, games, comics etc. Why is this character your favourite? Marginalization is the process whereby something or someone is pushed to the edge of a group and accorded lesser importance. This is predominantly a social phenomenon by which a minority or sub-group is excluded, and their needs or desires ignored. A marginalized person can be people of colour, the disabled, mentally ill, the lgbt+ community etc.

I’d choose Ginny Weasley  in the book series of Harry Potter. Though she’s given importance later on, it’s only ‘cause she ends up w/ the protagonist and not for her brave deeds. Without her, the trio’d never have been able to do half the things. Though she wasn’t physically present w/ ‘em, she helped’em out w/ a lot of her tactics and by supporting ‘em blindly, without knowing what they did half the time.

8. It is important that marginalized people are given platforms to shine and bring awareness to their movements and plights. If you believe so, why is it important to you?

Yes, needless to say, I believe so. According to me, there are a lot of hidden talents, but unfortunately, in this era, not many of the talented ones are given platforms due to other “important” things like money. The ones who can’t afford all of this suppress their talents and move on w/ life, looking for other ways to make both ends meet, but that isn’t how this world should work. There’s talent in everyone, not just the rich. Everyone should be given equal opportunities and then the best can be chosen from ‘em all, if required. We all are humans and nobody has the right to marginalize another human, who’s made of the same thing as us. The only fault of him/her is to be born in such a cruel era where money outshines talent.

9. It is crucial that in whatever we do, we should always strive for both equity & equality, what advice can you part with, when it comes to using our platforms to give a voice to the marginalized?

My advice would be that everyone has to be given equal opportunities based on talent and not anything else. To do so, one has to encourage a person one knows who’s talented, but is hesitant to raise it for any reason. Also, we, as the blogging community, can spread awareness against marginalization and contribute to the upliftment of the marginalized. I believe, if there’s anyone who can play a vital role in their upliftment, it’s the writers, for as they say, a pen is always mightier than a sword.

10. Last but not the least, what’s your take on the blogging communities? What has been your experience within the community?

The blogging communities are lovely. It’s one of the very few platforms where one gets to read and share so many expressions without being judged. It’s one place where you can never find anything wrong. A live example for different perspectives. My experience, though a really short one, has been fantabulous. I really love it here, and I find solace to my broken fragments here. I’m very glad I found such a community. I’d also like to thank all of those who’ve helped me in this endeavor of mine and supported me constantly throughout.
