Blurb – You never know what’s happening on the other side of the wall.

Your neighbour told you that she didn’t want your six-month-old daughter at the dinner party. Nothing personal, she just couldn’t stand her crying.

Your husband said it would be fine. After all, you only live next door. You’ll have the baby monitor and you’ll take it in turns to go back every half hour.

Your daughter was sleeping when you checked on her last. But now, as you race up the stairs in your deathly quiet house, your worst fears are realised. She’s gone.

You’ve never had to call the police before. But now they’re in your home, and who knows what they’ll find there.

What would you be capable of, when pushed past your limit?

My Review

Okay, so the main couple, the couple who’s child have been kidnapped are going through a lot of struggles and have secrets they are keeping from each other, the story centres around them and their maternal parents. The couple next door to them, who I initially thought was the couple they were referring to, but the story didn’t really shine a light on them, just a little bit and of course, they had their contributing role.

The story starts off slow but steady and as time passes, I seem to not know what to believe anymore, I was surprised about how drastically things took a turn for the worse, but thankful the mystery was solved and questions answered.

I’m glad I finished this book, the mystery was intriguing and all the twists. I was so so so scared, that the baby was dead and I couldn’t start to believe who would have kidnapped her and how right the detective was.

Okay, crime solving book, can’t really write too much or I’ll give it away. This is one messed up book. How everything links back, in the end, makes for a nice tidying of the mystery, but I honestly hated the end, like the last chapter. Why?

  1. This sounds like a fun read. But I might have a hard with it do to the fact that as a parent I cannot fathom the idea of someone leaving a child like that! Next door or not. I struggle with books where the plot develops from someone’s horrible decision.
