Blurb

I say don’t read it if you want to enjoy the story, because the blurb is a vague but well-detailed summary of the story in general. I’m just reading it for the first time, as it is whenever I read books, I read the blurb after I finish the book.

My Review

Started On – Nov. 27th, 2016.

Finished On – Dec. 2nd, 2016.

This is such an enchanting tale, from the minute I opened the book, I knew the words on the pages, were(are) filled with an ominous energy I can’t even begin to explain, I was drawn into the exquisite world, which unravels in my mind and somehow, makes this wonderful tale. The tale is not one, but stories within a story, with so many twists and many possible outcomes.

It’s wonderful how everyone’s action is perfectly synchronised with the occurrences in the story. How one action, sets of a wave of outcomes, that were long in coming. This story is a web of complexity yet so pure and simple.

The characters are wonderful to read about and know, to understand how each of them are one more puzzle piece to the story, how and where they fit in. How they are the way they are and to finally uncover the mystery that is their being, their secrets.

The story is wonderful, but the end has a kind of tangy bittersweet atmosphere to it, I was very happy and sad, but I love it nonetheless for there was no other way and the solution itself is perfect, for it embodies the whole story.

I don’t know how to explain the story, it’s wonderful and perfect how it is, everything just works. It’s unlike any other book I’ve come across, on her own level. The words are intoxicating and the word “magic” doesn’t do this story justice at all. I am just in love with the world Erin Morgenstern created and how I would love to visit such a circus. It’s saddening to know I had come to the end of my journey with The Night Circus.

Although all these wonderful factors, I still felt something amiss with the story, I can’t place it, but it just seems like something crucial was left out or overlooked. I’m glad I got to read this book, before the end of 2016 and I know as much as I enjoyed this story, I would never read it again.

  1. I read this book and I liked it too. However, since I was also reading another book, which was a thriller. I found this book a bit slow paced in some areas and it took me a little longer to finish because I allowed myself to get distracted doing other things.
